Nigeria’s GDP Grows 4.43% in Q2 2026, Driven by Non-Oil Sector Gains
Nigeria’s economy grew by 4.43% year-on-year in real terms in the second quarter of 2026, according to National Bureau of Statistics data. This was higher than the 3.89% recorded in the first quarter and the 4.23% growth reported in Q2 2025. The oil sector grew by 7.30%, while the non-oil sector expanded by 4.31%. Services remained the largest contributor to real GDP, accounting for 56.62%, with telecommunications, financial services and real estate among the key drivers. Agriculture grew by 4.39%, helped by stronger crop production during the early harvest season. However, industrial growth slowed to 3.96% as manufacturers faced high diesel costs and elevated input prices.
