Kaduna Suspends 2026 Independence Day Celebration Without Stating Reason

The Kaduna State Government has suspended its planned 66th Independence Day celebration, which was scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The announcement was made in a statement issued on behalf of Governor Uba Sani by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki. The government said the suspension takes immediate effect and apologised for any inconvenience. No reason was given for the decision, meaning the planned state activities will no longer hold as scheduled.
