Okin Biscuits Restarts Production Line in Offa After 17-Year Shutdown
Okin Biscuits has restarted one of its production lines in Offa, Kwara State, 17 years after operations stopped. The company said the line had to be rebuilt after vandals stole vital equipment, including cables, motors, contactors and electronic components. Tuesday’s exercise was a technical trial to confirm that the rehabilitated line could operate again. The company said it is still working on testing, calibration and restoring the familiar Okin taste and quality before the biscuits return to stores. It also announced that the factory has been connected to a 33kVA Band A electricity supply.
