Governor Seyi Makinde described the recent Appeal Court judgment on the PDP Ibadan convention as a challenging period for both his party and democracy in Nigeria. He said he consulted seasoned political figures and found none who have witnessed a landscape like today’s. “I can only say on behalf of all…we are only two Governors remaining,” he said, gesturing to Governor Bala Mohammed. Makinde assured that when the story of this era is told, they will be found on the side of the people. He spoke personally and for his Party chairman, the Bauchi State Governor. “The period will pass,” Makinde added. “We must be conscious of what history will record for or against us as individuals and as a Party.”
