Tinubu Orders Immediate Rollout of 100,000 CNG Conversion Kits Nationwide
President Bola Tinubu has directed the deployment of 100,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion kits across Nigeria. The initiative aims to cushion commuters against rising transport costs linked to the Middle East conflict. Ismaeel Ahmed, Executive Chairman of the Presidential Initiative on CNG (Pi-CNG), shared the directive after meeting with the President at the State House. He said the kits will be rolled out within two to three weeks through partnerships with vehicle owners and key stakeholders. The President also emphasised expanding CNG infrastructure along major northern corridors. About 77 refilling stations are at various stages of development, with plans to link Lokoja, Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria, Kano and Maiduguri.
