Inquest Rules Three Sisters of Nigerian Descent Died by Suicide in Brighton
A UK coroner has ruled that three sisters of Nigerian descent who were found in the sea off Brighton died by suicide. Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, had been living together in London. The inquest heard that they had become very secluded after their mother died by drowning in 2010. The sisters travelled to Brighton on 12 May and were last seen on the seafront in the early hours of the following day. The coroner said they could not swim, and postmortem tests found no drugs or alcohol in their systems. Their father described losing his three daughters as an unimaginable heartbreak. The court said the reasons behind their decision may never be known.
