Why Civil Taxation Should Be Treated as a Shared Cost of Nation-Building

I believe taxation is central to nation-building because it allows citizens and businesses to contribute to shared public facilities. When everyone contributes fairly, tax should function less as punishment and more as a collective investment in a functioning society. For producers, taxes such as VAT and company income tax can be treated as operating costs, especially when the same rules apply to competitors. Changes in energy costs, wages, or taxes can affect prices, and businesses can plan around these costs. Imports that benefit from unfair tax advantages may also be regulated to protect local producers. For workers, personal income tax can become an artificial deduction when wages are set high enough to cover taxes, pension contributions, savings, and basic living costs. In that situation, taxation is built into the economic structure rather than imposed in a way that impoverishes workers. In the Ogunda Ose perspective, only those who are earning or making gains should contribute tax, while those without work or market share should be supported until they can stand again. Civil taxation should therefore protect the less fortunate while asking successful individuals and businesses to contribute to the common good.
