US Authorities Seek Two Nigerians Over Separate Medicare Fraud and Drug Allegations
US authorities have declared two Nigerians wanted in separate cases involving alleged Medicare fraud and drug offences. The Department of Homeland Security alleged that 57-year-old Ezechukwu Ohaka submitted more than $3.1 million in fraudulent Medicare claims through a Houston-based company. Investigators said the claims involved wheelchairs, scooters and accessories that were unnecessary or were not supplied. He is also accused of receiving more than $1 million in illegal proceeds and using kickbacks to recruit people, including hurricane victims. In a separate case, the Drug Enforcement Administration said 57-year-old Tayo Muyiwa Olukoya, also known as Uncle, is wanted over allegations of conspiracy to possess and distribute controlled substances. The allegations are separate, and both men are being sought by US law-enforcement authorities.
