Army Arrests 47 Suspects, Rescues Kidnap Victims in Nationwide Operations
Nigerian Army troops arrested 47 suspects during a raid on alleged criminal hideouts in Karu, Nasarawa State. Security operatives recovered motorcycles, mobile phones, a laptop, suspected cannabis and other items, which were handed to police for investigation. Across Zamfara, Katsina and Sokoto, troops rescued several kidnap victims after engagements with armed groups. Three rescued civilians in Zamfara were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, while one victim rescued in Sokoto was confirmed dead from injuries. Troops also recovered 117 suspected stolen cows in Zamfara, safely detonated an improvised explosive device in Niger State, and made arrests linked to alleged IPOB/ESN activities in Anambra and Imo. An illegal refining site containing about 720 litres of refined crude oil was also uncovered in Imo.
