Midnight Bandits Strike Mpape: Guard Killed, Pastor and Two Others Abducted

Bandits launched an attack in the Yellow House layout of Mpape, Bwari, late on July 9. They killed a security guard and opened fire on residents near a military barracks in the FCT. A nearby police patrol intervened before the attackers broke into their intended target. As the bandits retreated, they intercepted and abducted a pastor from his car and seized two other fleeing residents. Gunfire rang out until around 2am. Officers later recovered the pastor’s abandoned vehicle. One man was grazed by a bullet and taken to hospital for treatment.
