Gunmen Abduct Worshippers During Friday Prayers at Niger Mosque
Suspected terrorists abducted an unconfirmed number of worshippers during Friday prayers at a mosque in Kpenya, Dekara District of Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State. Police said the attackers first raided Gidan-Zana and Kpenya villages before moving to the mosque at about 2 p.m. on Friday. Some residents reportedly escaped into nearby forest areas. The Niger State Police Command said no deaths have been confirmed. Joint security operatives have been deployed to assess the situation and rescue the abducted worshippers.
