MOSIEND Urges Ijaw-Itsekiri Unity Amid Pipeline Surveillance Contract Dispute
The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta has commended Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited for its pipeline surveillance work and urged Ijaw and Itsekiri communities to avoid ethnic rivalry. The group said the success of any legitimate indigenous company should benefit the wider Niger Delta. It warned that disagreements over surveillance contracts must not be allowed to create tension between neighbouring ethnic groups. MOSIEND declined to validate claims about the alleged value of pipeline surveillance contracts. It called for evidence, transparency and proper scrutiny of procurement processes. The group also urged regional leaders, young people and social media users to reject inflammatory narratives and support peaceful resolution of disputes.
