What Habit Did You Have to Unlearn to Become a Better Developer?
Early in my career, I thought becoming a better developer meant learning more syntax, frameworks and tools than everyone else. But there is always another library, stack or trend to chase. Most of my biggest improvements came from unlearning bad habits. I had to stop coding before fully understanding the problem. I also learned not to take code-review comments personally, and to stop confusing clever code with good code. With AI now doing more of the typing, these habits matter even more. If the thinking behind the work is wrong, AI can help us build the wrong solution faster. What habit or belief did you have to let go of to become better at development?
