Bauchi Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Defilement of Seven-Year-Old Girl, Phone Theft
Police in Bauchi State have arrested a 20-year-old man, Isiyaku Usman, over the alleged defilement of a seven-year-old girl and theft of her two mobile phones in Darazo LGA. The girl’s father reportedly told police that she was going to a neighbour’s home when the suspect allegedly took her into an uncompleted building, stole the phones and assaulted her. Police said the suspect was arrested with the phones and allegedly confessed. The case has been transferred to the Gender Laboratory of the State Criminal Investigation Department, while investigations continue ahead of prosecution.
