Newborn Girl Rescued After Being Found in Sack in Edo Community
Residents of Obaretin Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State have rescued a newborn girl who was allegedly abandoned inside a sack. The baby was found at about 7 a.m. on September 18, 2026, and the police were alerted. She was taken to a hospital, where medical personnel examined her and confirmed that she was healthy. Edo Police said an investigation is underway to identify the child’s parents and establish the circumstances of the abandonment. Relevant authorities have also been contacted to provide the baby with safe shelter and care.
