Rihanna Blames Non-Voters for Trump’s Return to the White House

Rihanna says Americans who did not vote in the 2024 presidential election also share responsibility for Donald Trump’s return to the White House. Reacting to a discussion involving journalist Charles M. Blow and former television host Joy Reid, the Barbadian singer said voter apathy played a role in the outcome. “Believe it or not, those who didn’t vote at all, also did this!” she wrote. Trump defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in November 2024 to win a second term. Rihanna, who is a Barbadian citizen and could not vote in the election, has previously encouraged eligible Americans to participate in elections.
