Okorocha Denies Arrest, Says Imo Government Is Spreading False Claims
Former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has denied reports that he was arrested and later released by the police. In a statement, Okorocha accused the Hope Uzodinma-led Imo State Government of spreading false claims as part of a political witch-hunt. He said he was neither detained nor granted bail. Okorocha also argued that the bench warrant cited by the state government had been vacated by the same court on September 14, after it was issued on September 9. He maintained that no valid court order existed for his arrest.
