Troops Rescue Two-Year-Old Boy After Kidnap Attack in Kaduna
Troops have rescued two-year-old Jafaru Baba, who was abducted with his mother by suspected kidnappers in Ungwan Nungu village, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The rescue followed intelligence on the movement of the kidnappers and their victims on September 16, 2026. Troops searched Tayu High Grounds and nearby areas in Tayu village, where they encountered the suspects. The kidnappers fled into the bush after an exchange of fire, leaving the child behind. Jafaru was recovered and reunited with his father. Security personnel are continuing the search for his mother and the fleeing suspects.
