SA Home Affairs Moves to Deport Ex-Miss SA Finalist Chidimma Adetshina

South African authorities have asked the Cape Town Regional Court to confirm the detention of former beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina. They allege she and her young son have been living in the country without lawful immigration status. Adetshina, 25, first gained attention as a Miss South Africa finalist before withdrawing amid questions about her citizenship. She later represented Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant and finished as first runner-up. Arrested earlier this month in Cape Town’s Summer Greens area, she appeared in court on June 9 and was released on a warning. Her case will return to court next month as officials continue deportation proceedings.
