Tinubu to Address Nigerians at 7am on Independence Day

President Bola Tinubu will address Nigerians at 7am on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as the country marks its 66th Independence anniversary. The Presidency said television, radio and other electronic media outlets are expected to relay the broadcast through the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria network services. The specific issues the President will discuss were not disclosed. Nigeria gained independence from British colonial rule on October 1, 1960.
