2027: Why Alleged Forgery Claims Test Nigeria’s Judiciary
I believe Nigeria’s courts face another major test of public confidence as allegations of certificate forgery, incomplete records and questionable credentials return to political debate ahead of 2027. I argue that the law must be applied consistently, regardless of a candidate’s wealth, influence or political base. Allegations against public office holders should be examined on credible evidence and decided fairly by the courts. For me, the wider issue is character in leadership. Nigerians must decide whether integrity and transparent personal records will remain essential standards for those seeking elective office.
