National Single Window Stakeholders Review Five-Month Rollout in Port Harcourt
Customs officials, trade regulators, freight forwarders and other industry stakeholders met in Port Harcourt on August 27 to review the National Single Window platform five months after its first-phase rollout. The session focused on harmonising HS codes and implementing sea manifests. Officials said the digital platform is designed to allow importers and exporters submit trade documents through one channel, reducing clearance delays, costs and opportunities for revenue leakages. The National Single Window operations team said the engagement was part of ongoing efforts to collect user feedback and resolve operational issues. It also announced plans to further simplify HS codes and roll out the platform’s second phase in December 2026. Participants said the initiative has faced early challenges but could improve trade facilitation, speed up cargo clearance and boost government revenue if agencies and private-sector users continue to collaborate.
