Tunde Onakoya Launches Good Move Social Chess Club in Lagos
Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya has launched Good Move, a weekly social chess club for experienced players, beginners and people interested in the culture around the game. The club held its first gathering on September 23 at PANU Lagos and will meet every Tuesday. Members can play chess, meet new people and exchange ideas in a relaxed setting outside formal tournaments. Onakoya, founder of Chess in Slums Africa, has used chess to support out-of-school children in Lagos communities, including Makoko and Oshodi, with access to education. Good Move extends that mission by making the game more accessible to a wider Lagos audience.
