Indian Father Shoots Son Dead Over Suspicion of Hiring Hitmen
A 23-year-old man was found shot dead in a car parked along a highway in Meerut, India. Police arrested his father, Sunder Tyagi, as the prime suspect. Investigators say Tyagi believed his son had paid Rs10 lakh to hire hitmen. He and an associate, Amit alias Vedwan, were arrested within 24 hours of the crime. Authorities are still searching for a third suspect. Analysis of CCTV footage and technical evidence showed the victim’s vehicle and the accused’s car travelling together before the shooting. Officials say Tyagi was in the victim’s SUV when he opened fire, then fled the scene after abandoning the body. Tyagi, a former history-sheeter with several past criminal cases, remains in custody as the investigation continues.
