Troops Arrest Zamfara Man With 180 Explosives Allegedly Meant for Terrorists

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested a 57-year-old man in Gusau, Zamfara State, after allegedly finding him with 180 units of 20mm Superpower explosives reportedly intended for suspected terrorists in Katsina State. The suspect, identified as Sani Umar, was stopped during routine vehicle checks by troops of Sector 2. Military authorities said he, the vehicle and the recovered explosives are in custody while investigations continue. In a separate operation around Garin Kaso in Birnin Magaji LGA, troops reportedly killed two suspected terrorists and recovered rifles, magazines, ammunition and motorcycles. The military said its operations remain focused on disrupting terrorist logistics and denying armed groups freedom of movement across the North-West.
