US Father Jailed After Family Dog Fatally Attacks One-Week-Old Baby
A father in Indiana, United States, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after the family dog fatally attacked his one-week-old son. The baby was found with severe injuries after the dog, a husky and pit bull mix, allegedly dragged him around the family home. Police said the home was filled with trash, insects and dirty clothing, and was later declared unfit for habitation. Relatives reportedly knew the dog had shown aggression towards people and other animals. The dog was euthanised, while the baby’s mother and several other relatives still face active cases connected to the death.
