Hotkeed Says He Knows Nigerian Artists Using Streaming Farms
Afrobeats singer Hotkeed has criticised the growing use of streaming farms in Nigeria’s music industry, saying the practice hurts artists who rely on genuine listeners. In a recent interview, he said artificially inflated figures can push deserving talents out of the spotlight. According to him, artists who use such services often boast about numbers that do not reflect real fan support. Hotkeed said people offering streaming-farm services have approached him, and he claims to know at least 50 Nigerian artists involved. He warned that he could expose any of them if they cross him, adding that he would rather have 2,000 genuine streams than two million fake ones.
