Cyberattack Exposes Data of 8.7 Million Customers at Three UK Airports
Manchester Airports Group says an unauthorised third party accessed customer data connected to Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports. The compromised information includes email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registration numbers and postcodes. Most of the affected records were linked to airport Wi-Fi registrations, as well as car park, lounge and fast-track booking services. The airport operator said no banking or payment details were exposed. It also said flight operations, passenger safety and aviation security were not affected while it works with relevant authorities and cybersecurity specialists.
