Asake Takes Fans Inside a Late-Night Studio Session in “Oba” Video
Asake has released the visuals for “Oba,” a track from his project M$NEY. The video swaps large street scenes for an intimate look at a late-night recording session. “Oba,” meaning “King” in Yoruba, blends themes of ambition, status, gratitude and staying alert through success. Asake draws on Yoruba references and his Mister Money persona while reflecting on his rise in the music industry. Directed by Director Buise, the video shows producers, engineers and backing vocalists at work as Asake records in the studio. Produced by Magicsticks, the song combines log-drum rhythms with choir-backed harmonies.
