UK-Based Iranian Activists Raise Alarm Over Telegram Doxxing Network
A network of pro-Iranian government Telegram accounts has reportedly resumed publishing personal details of Iranian activists living in the United Kingdom and Europe. The accounts label dissidents as “overseas traitors” and encourage users to submit information about others. British-Iranian activist Ali Taranssari said his phone number and date of birth were shared on the channels, followed by threatening messages. Metro reported that posts linked to the network have included activists’ addresses, workplaces, movements and universities. Security specialists say the campaign appears designed to intimidate Iranian dissidents abroad, though no official investigation has confirmed who operates the accounts or whether they are directed by Tehran. The Iranian Embassy in London denied any involvement, while UK counter-terrorism police said national-security allegations are assessed by specialist officers.
