Army Ambush: Suspected ISWAP Supplier Caught with Food Cargo in Borno
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI intercepted a logistics supplier during an ambush at the Jakana–Mulam axis on the night of July 13, 2026. The suspect, identified as Kazalal Modu, was found carrying five cartons of spaghetti, 191 packs of digestive biscuits, sugar, torchlights, a bicycle and ₦10,000 in cash. The 273 Task Force Tank Battalion and members of the Forest Guard set the ambush to disrupt food routes to Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters. Modu is now in custody as authorities investigate where the supplies were headed and other members of the network. Military sources say these strangulation operations are critical to cutting off essential items like food, fuel and medicine. They aim to degrade terrorist groups’ ability to regroup after battlefield losses.
