Falana: Police Had No Right to Arrest PFIPC Director-General’s Father
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has condemned the Nigeria Police Force over the reported arrest of the father of Adeniyi Adeyemi, Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. Falana insists there was no legal basis to detain an elderly man under the Constitution, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act or the Nigeria Police Act. He adds that police later clarified the father was only invited to assist with an investigation and to give a statement, not formally arrested.
