NDC Disowns Unauthorised Obi-Kwankwaso Campaign Council, Refers Ugulu for Discipline

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has disowned a 59-member Presidential Campaign Council announced by the OK Movement for Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 election. In a statement, the party said the group was not authorised to create or announce campaign structures in its name. It stressed that only the party leadership and National Working Committee can approve a Presidential Campaign Council. The NDC said John Ugulu, who was linked to the announcement, has been referred to its disciplinary organ over alleged repeated disregard for party authority. The party urged support groups to use internal channels for grievances rather than operate parallel structures.
