Adamawa Police Arrest Suspected Motorcycle Thief Allegedly Posing as Inspector

Police in Adamawa have arrested a 36-year-old man accused of attempting to steal a Boxer motorcycle and posing as a police inspector in Girei Local Government Area. The suspect was intercepted on October 10 after officers on patrol along the Girei–Yola Road responded to a distress call. Police said he initially identified himself as Inspector Yakubu Yusuf, claiming to be attached to a border patrol unit. Investigators later identified him as Habila Ibrahim. A fake police warrant card, a police uniform and a master key allegedly used for motorcycle theft were recovered. Police said he is also suspected of using the false identity to defraud residents in Girei, Mubi North and Mubi South. He remains in custody and is expected to be charged after investigations are concluded.
