Kaduna Police Condemn Brutal Lynching of Woman Accused of Child Theft

A woman accused of child theft was killed by a mob in Maraban Jos, Kaduna State. Residents attacked her based on unverified claims. The Police Command called the incident a grave affront to justice and the rule of law. Officers initially rescued the woman and took her into protective custody for investigation. A large crowd later overran the station, seized her, and set her body ablaze. The Command described the act as criminal, barbaric, and inhumane. Several suspects are now in custody and a full-scale investigation is underway. The Commissioner of Police warned against jungle justice and urged residents to channel complaints through the proper authorities.
