Three Men Jailed for 25 Years Over UK-to-China Stolen Phone Network

Three men have received a combined 25-year prison sentence after a Metropolitan Police investigation uncovered an international network accused of handling stolen mobile phones. Investigators said the group was linked to the movement of up to 40,000 stolen phones from the UK to China in 2024 and 2025. Police believe the devices represented about 40 per cent of phones stolen in London during that period. The investigation began after officers intercepted about 1,000 iPhones at a warehouse near Heathrow Airport in December 2024. Further searches later recovered hundreds of phones from a vehicle and about 2,000 devices from linked properties. Police said phone theft and robbery offences have fallen by a fifth across London this year as specialist teams target theft hotspots and suspected export networks.
