74-Year-Old Grandpa Caught Smuggling 11kg of Cocaine Hidden in Pepper at Abuja Airport
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a 74-year-old man, Ikwuakalom Emeka, at the departure hall of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Emeka was about to board British Airways flight BA082 to Heathrow, London on Saturday, March 14, 2026, when officers found 11 kilograms of cocaine wrapped in foil and balloons concealed inside ground dry pepper and other food items. NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi confirmed the seizure in a statement released on Sunday, noting that the septuagenarian claimed he was travelling for vacation.
