I first saw this strategy in the Spanish series Money Heist, where thieves used hostages to block rescue forces. Now, a school group and staff have been abducted in Oriire LGA, Oyo State under similar circumstances. My thoughts are with the families of those taken and with the loved ones of Mr Michael Oyedokun, who was tragically killed. I pray for strength for everyone affected and for the swift, safe return of the remaining hostages. Reports say the kidnappers are holding their victims inside Old Oyo National Park, using them as a human shield against military operatives. They even released videos through the headteacher and are demanding the release of imprisoned gang members. This is a delicate situation for our government and armed forces. I hope they find a way to rescue the hostages without further loss of life. May God guide our leaders and the brave military personnel in their efforts.
