Ogun Accuses Tinubu Government of Prioritising Re-election Over Governance

Former House of Representatives member Omosede Igbinedion Ogun has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of focusing on securing a second term rather than tackling Nigeria’s economic and social challenges. In an interview with a television news outlet, Ogun said the government began preparing for re-election immediately after taking office. He alleged that inflation, unemployment, insecurity and rising living costs have received insufficient attention. Ogun also argued that officials cannot place all responsibility on the Buhari administration, as many served in or supported that government. He urged opposition parties and citizens to unite ahead of the next election and said technology could help make election-result manipulation more difficult.
