Shekarau Faults Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto Governors Over Lack of Joint Security Strategy
Former Kano State Governor and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has criticised the Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto governments for allegedly failing to coordinate their response to insecurity in the North-West. He said the states face similar threats, including banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling, but have not shown evidence of joint operations, intelligence sharing or a common security policy. Shekarau warned that poor coordination allows armed groups to move across state borders after attacks. Residents of the affected states also called on the governors to set aside political differences and work together to protect communities and restore economic activity.
