Business Decisions: Pause Before You React Emotionally
One of the hardest lessons I have learned in business is that emotions can cloud judgment. A customer may disappoint you, a supplier may fail to deliver, or a deal you relied on may collapse. Anger is natural, but it should not decide your next move. I have learned to pause and ask what actually went wrong. Was it a person, a weak process, poor communication, unrealistic expectations or simply numbers that no longer add up? Looking at the facts helps me respond with clarity instead of frustration. Before making a major decision, I consider the financial implications, the available options and what best protects the long-term interest of the business. Sometimes walking away is necessary, but it should be because the evidence supports it, not because I am angry. Business is not always personal. Emotional discipline helps me protect relationships, avoid costly overreactions and make decisions I will not regret later.
