FG Rules Out Immediate Electricity Tariff Increase, Promises Better Supply and Metering
The Federal Government says it has no immediate plan to increase electricity tariffs beyond current levels. Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe said the government’s focus is on improving electricity supply, expanding universal metering and ensuring consumers are billed only for the power they use. He added that the government will consider further measures to protect vulnerable customers while working to improve the financial sustainability of Nigeria’s electricity market.
