US-Based NGO Pays Hospital Bills for 12 Benue Attack Survivors

US-Based NGO Pays Hospital Bills for 12 Benue Attack Survivors

A United States-based non-governmental organisation, Equipping the Persecuted, has paid the hospital bills of 12 survivors of recent attacks on Efeyi and Agadagba communities in Ogboju District, Otukpo LGA, Benue State. The victims are receiving treatment at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, for injuries including gunshot wounds and machete cuts. Two other victims had already been discharged before the group arrived. A representative of the organisation said the support followed an earlier assessment of the survivors' needs. Hospital officials said the NGO has previously assisted victims of violent attacks in Otukpo communities. The attack, which occurred on July 28, reportedly killed several residents and injured others. Survivors alleged that security agencies did not intervene during the incident.
