Nigerian Army Frees Chained Kidnap Victim as Fafu Forest Terror Camps Are Destroyed
Troops of Operation CLEAN SWEEP intensified clearance in Katsina State, targeting terrorist enclaves around Tuga in Matazu LGA. Supported by air strikes from Operation FANSAN YAMMA, forces recovered 36 cattle, 280 sheep and two donkeys, cutting a major revenue source for armed groups. Moving into Fafu Forest, soldiers dismantled multiple camps and logistics sites after coordinated aerial and artillery bombardments. During the operation, they uncovered a hideout linked to a notorious leader, recovered two bodies and rescued one kidnapped victim found in chains. The rescued man received first aid and was evacuated to the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina. The army says these intelligence-driven actions demonstrate its resolve to disrupt terror networks and restore safety across affected communities.
