Bauchi Police Arrest Suspected Phone Snatcher, Five Others Over Street Violence
Bauchi State Police Command says it has arrested a suspected phone snatcher and five other suspects in separate operations across Bauchi metropolis. Police said a 25-year-old man was attacked while watching a Maulud procession at Kofar Fada on August 25. His phone, valued at ₦50,000, and ₦30,000 cash were allegedly stolen. The victim was reportedly injured during the incident and treated at a hospital. Operatives later arrested a 20-year-old suspect in connection with the case. Police said efforts are ongoing to arrest other alleged members of the syndicate and recover the phone. In separate responses to distress calls, officers arrested five suspects allegedly involved in violent clashes in Mangororin Sale Toro and Jaja areas. One sharpened cutlass was reportedly recovered, while investigations continue.
