2027: APC Members Defect to NDC in Kano South

Several APC members in Takai Local Government Area of Kano State have defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC. The defectors were received by the NDC senatorial candidate for Kano South, Dr Kassim Ibrahim Bataiya. The development comes amid shifting political alliances in Kano ahead of the 2027 elections. Defections have reportedly increased since former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso emerged as the NDC vice-presidential candidate. Some politicians are also said to be leaving Kwankwaso’s camp for the ruling party.
