2027: Sheikh Daurawa Urges Nigerians to Put Competence Above Religion
Islamic scholar Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa has urged Nigerians to judge 2027 presidential candidates by competence, record and ability to deliver good governance rather than religious identity. Reacting to support for a Muslim-Muslim ticket, Daurawa said Nigeria’s political system and Constitution do not recognise religious political parties. He said citizens are free to support any ticket combination, whether Muslim-Muslim, Christian-Christian or mixed-faith. He also warned against insults, violence and religious hostility during campaigns. Daurawa urged young people to reject drug abuse and weapons and take part in the electoral process peacefully.
