Tinubu Names Seasoned Banker Lamido Abubakar Yuguda as CBN Deputy Governor
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Lamido Abubakar Yuguda as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Yuguda brings over 30 years of banking and finance expertise to the role. He holds an Honour’s degree in Accountancy from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master’s in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham. He is also a CFA charterholder and fellow of ICAN and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. Yuguda’s career includes senior posts at the CBN, where he managed foreign exchange reserves, a stint as an IMF economist in Washington DC, and leadership of Nigeria’s SEC. He has served on the boards of AFC and Premium Pension Limited and attended executive programs at top global business schools.
