Police Arrest Two After Foiling Hostel Robbery in Ogun, Recover Phones and Laptop
Police in Ogun State have arrested two suspects after foiling a robbery at a student hostel in the Eruku/Agbon area of Ewekoro. The police said they responded to a distress call at about 2:40am on September 13 and found an armed gang allegedly robbing students. The suspects reportedly abandoned a bag and tried to escape when they saw the officers. Eleven phones, an HP laptop and clothing were recovered from the bag. One victim was also allegedly forced to transfer ₦200,000 during the attack. The recovered items have been identified by their owners. The two suspects have been transferred to the State CID in Eleweran for further investigation and prosecution. Police say efforts are ongoing to find other members of the gang and trace the account that received the money.
