Group Questions Akpabio’s Senate Leadership, Calls for Accountability

The Legislative Advocacy Network has criticised Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s leadership and questioned his suitability for another term in office. The group said the Senate presidency should be judged by legislative performance, accountability, democratic principles and public confidence rather than party loyalty or political calculations. It called for an independent National Assembly that can effectively scrutinise government policies, protect public resources and hold the executive accountable. The group urged senators to consider the Senate’s record on oversight and responsiveness to Nigerians when choosing future leadership.
